Is the Great American Teacher Dead?
When I began my experience as a teacher I did it in a self-taught way and with the experience of having taught the children in the church. My intuition helped me a lot but I knew it was not enough when reading this article by John J. Ivers
I understood by knowledge the importance of keeping us alive as a teacher.
Knowing the statistics on how teachers fall into coldness before teaching or how the environment that surrounds us can influence the learning of human beings makes me reflect and consider the great responsibility we have as teachers when we arrive in the classroom.
David E. Purpel (1989), said “The profession must begin with the perspective of
hunger, war, poverty, or starvation as its starting point,
rather than from the perspective of problems of
textbook selection, teacher certification requirements,
or discipline policies. If there is no serious connection
between education and hunger, injustice, alienation,
poverty, and war, then we are wasting our time,
deluding each other, and breaking faith "
These words further clarified my perspective as a teacher.
a great teaching requires developing Christian attributes when I read the list of skills that we must consider to be a great teacher leads me to think about the
Teacher of Teacher "Jesus Christ"
I can say that all learning and all research invite us to be a positive influence for those around us, in the classroom as well as in daily life.

Teaching at Church and everywhere is the same because we need to minister as disciples of Jesus Christ then we need to guide for the Holy Ghost in every minute but first we need to prepare our teaching. I love how to use your calling experience. Thank you!

I agree the environment can influence very much in all the aspects of our lives. Imagine learning, we need to be in a positive, encourage environment to take the best advantage of the learning experience. We, students, can help to improve this environment.
ResponderBorrarI love your point of view on the subject and the correlation with your teaching experience in the church. When we start the teaching career we do it with great enthusiasm, with a lot of desire to want to do it well, but when we get to school we find some teachers who have obviously lost that spark. Keep that illusion, that magic. That is the key to enjoying your teaching career, don't let it get cold.
