Is the Great American Teacher Dead? When I began my experience as a teacher I did it in a self-taught way and with the experience of having taught the children in the church. My intuition helped me a lot but I knew it was not enough when reading this article by John J. Ivers I understood by knowledge the importance of keeping us alive as a teacher. Knowing the statistics on how teachers fall into coldness before teaching or how the environment that surrounds us can influence the learning of human beings makes me reflect and consider the great responsibility we have as teachers when we arrive in the classroom.
